Pectin wastewater from canned fruit and vegetable industry mainly consists of acidic washing water, rinse water, alkaline wash water and low-concentrated field and equipment wash wastewater.

Canned orange industry consumes most water in the whole pectin industry. It’s big challenge to deal with its wastewater.
Generally, canned orange industry requires COD of effluent at 300mg/L~500mg/L and sludge cakes will not drip water during transportation. Due to large amount of pectin scum floating in the tank which seriously affects the wastewater system performance, the actual required capacity is beyond of that of existing system. Belt filter press can’t be the right choice because the filter cloth is easily to be clogged by pectin and it consumes massive back wash water. What’s more, sludge cakes still contain much water, which will drip water during transportation.
TECHASE applies flotation system to separate the pectin from wastewater and make soluble COD flow into wastewater dewater system in advance. It also lowers the load of back-end process.
Compared with belt press, multi-plate screw press is more suitable to hand sludge and colloform from fruit and vegetable industry. It has the advantages as follows: 1. higher output dryness. 2. Air flotation treatment cuts down the amount of scum, and makes it possible to clean the rest scum by manual inspection. 3. Multi-plate screw press produces 30~45T/d residue which is soft and orange micelle. 4. Massive dissoluble COD flows into wastewater dewater system. It helps better meet the requirements of the wastewater discharge standards.
