Case Study|Application of Multi- plate Screw Press in water treatment

In recent years, the sludge dewatering machine- Multi-plate Screw Press has been greatly developed and promoted in China. Compared with traditional sludge dewatering equipment, Multi-plate Screw Press is featured with non-blocking, low energy and water consumption, and fully automatic operation. Currently, it has been widely used in many fields such as municipal engineering, petrochemical industry, medicine, textile, metallurgy, food and beverage, agriculture and animal husbandry. With the development of new materials and process technology, TeChase is also constantly devoted to innovation and improvement, such as the research and application of screw shaft type for inorganic sludge, new material rings-CFRP rings, and the Internet of Things integration.

The cases study hereby is a municipal sewage treatment plant with a daily treatment capacity of 50000 cubic meters per day. The sludge dewatering system adopts TECH-403 screw press(screw quantity: 3pcs) and automatic polymer station from TeChase. The sludge and chemicals coagulate in the flocculation mixing tank and enter the dewatering body. After being treated by the screw press, the water content of the sludge can reach below 80%.

The screw press has received good feedback from customers, with the main advantages as follows:
1. Fully automatic operation, no manual duty needed, the screw press can be started and stopped remotely with one button, making operation easy and labor-saving.
2. Energy saving and electricity saving, with extremely low operating costs. The rotation speed of the screw shaft is only 2-4r/min, and the power is less than 5kW. Its average energy consumption is about 1/8 of that of a belt press and 1/20 of that of a centrifuge.
3. The screw shaft surface with super wear-resistant hard alloy layer, its welding thickness is 100-150 times that of ordinary spraying technology, greatly extending the service life of the equipment.
4. The CFRP ring has high-quality wear resistance, 2-year replacement rate less than 5%, service life more than twice that of traditional stainless steel 304, saving maintenance costs.
5. In addition, the CFRP ring does not react with acid, alkali or salt, it has excellent corrosion resistance when dealing with corrosive materials. Compared to SS316 material rings or even dual phase steel rings, the use of CFRP ring not only improves product performance but also reduces investment costs.
